KYBE Earns Electrical Contract for new Pitt Meadows Fire Hall

We are proud to announce that KYBE has been awarded the electrical contract for the new Pitt Meadows Fire Hall.

This 25,000sqft. post disaster rated facility being built by Jacob Bros Construction , will be completed in Summer 2022.

We look forward to sharing our ongoing progress on this multifaceted project.

KYBE Introducing North Shore Students to Trades

Being that KYBE’s relationship with Argyle Secondary School’s job placement program goes back to as far to the year 2000, the process holds a special place in all of our hearts. Taking on students for ten weeks at a time, we get to show them the ropes and give them a full impression of what it means to be a Red Seal Certified Trades-Person. The students that come to learn with us, more often than not stick around. Building their characters and careers to KYBE’s vision statement:

Introducing our First Electric Vehicle!

We are very excited to share the latest addition to KYBE’s fleet of vehicles. At KYBE we are fully committed to promoting progressive and sustainable technologies to our clients and on our projects. Which is why we feel our commitment should be reflected internally first, that’s why we have invested in our first Electric Vehicle - a 2018 Chevy Bolt. We believe electric cars are the future and now we know firsthand how easy it is to change from a typical gas or diesel combustible engine to a fully electric or hybrid.

We now consider ourselves experts on the topics of electric vehicles and electric vehicle chargers as we have trained many of our team in the installation of chargers in homes and businesses.

Having our office situated right next to a public charging station, within a moment’s notice we have a full charge, an HOV sticker, and a 380km battery range to get us to anywhere you need us as soon as possible. Our goal is in the next couple years to have an entire fleet of these, and we are so excited to get the ball rolling.

Ticket to Your Future 2016

We were recently invited to Argyle Secondary School in Lynn Valley as presenters for their annual 'Ticket to Your Future' event. We were thrilled to be asked (both of us being from the North Shore and Lynn Valley in particular), and recognize the importance of showing these young adults the options and opportunities that are available to them in our industry.

It was a sold out event with 500 attendees from all North Shore high schools and over 60 presenters consisting of other contractors from the lower mainland as well as educational institutions. We had a great time chatting with the students and their parents about KYBE and our apprenticeship process and requirements. It’s great to see kids show interest in starting out in the same position as Ben and myself did years ago. 

There were definitely some future KYBE apprentices & journeyman in attendance.

On Winning at the Small Business BC Awards

After months of interviews, presentations and countless votes from our friends, families and valued customers, KYBE Electrical Contracting was awarded with the first ever Best Apprentice Training Award from Small Business BC.

This award means so much to us as our company was built on apprentices that are now becoming full fledged journeyman under our mentorship and training. We would like to thank the apprentice that nominated us, Adam Thomas, for his great words and extra hours he put in to help us with our presentation as well as all of our other employees as we couldn't have done it without them. 

This will hopefully be the first of many awards for our company as we continue to lead our industry in apprentice training.

We are so honoured to be featured in this weekend's Vancouver Sun in the Business BC section. This article highlights our dedication to apprentice training and how our company is striving to lead our industry in this particular field. The path of an apprentice going from being completely green to a certified Journeyman Electrician is one we gladly take on and we want to continue to foster and mentor these apprentices and give them the best training to become the best trades people they can be.
